NOTICE OF AGM

This will take place at 2 pm on Tuesday, 8 May in Countesthorpe Village Hall

The meeting will receive reports from officers, and details of the U3A's accounts.

There will be a proposal to amend the objects clause in our constitution as recently required by the Third Age Trust

There will be a proposal to set the membership subscription for the year commencing 1 April 2019.   (The subscriptions to be collected in April and May this year remain at their present rates - ie  £13 for full membership, or £7 for associate membership)

Please note that we are seeking

new committee members this time.

Without a committee, there is NO U3A.

Your commitment is one meeting per month, and preferably attendance at the monthly general meeting.   Please do come forward and discuss with any committee member, or think about anyone else you would like to nominate!

ALLOTMENT GARDENING.   This small group is seeking a few new gardeners to assist with the U3A's allotment, located off Glebe Drive, Station Road.   Weekly (usually!) meetings in the growing season, but decided amongst group members.   Some tools are available on site.   Share the work, then share the produce!  If you are intereseted, why not call Val ( 07712 451126) or Andy (07749 347503) Grant for a chat.

BRIDGE.  This friendly group meets weekly between 2 and 4.30 pm in the Methodist Church, and is now seeking more members.   You do not need a partner, as cards are drawn for this.   £2 to include refreshments.   Call Alan on 277 2484 for more information, or just come along.

LINE DANCING On Friday 11th May 2018, Doug our caller, will be on his jollies therefore we are planning to turn the lesson into a social event with chat, tea, music and a chance to practice what we have already learnt.

Unfortunately we will have to cancel the lesson on 18th May 2018 as we will not have any callers but look forward to seeing you all again on the 25th.

CRAFTS FOR ALL GROUP.  Teresa Morgan is proposing this new group, which will offer opportunities to exchange ideas and expertise, continue your existing craft work, or learn new things in a social environment.   Craft workshops may include card-making, lavender bags, scrapbooking (creative photo albums), patchwork and memory boxes, with perhaps visiting speakers.    Teresa (on 363 0489) will make contact with interested people shortly.

DON'T SEE THE ACTIVITY THAT YOU WANT?  Then why not think about starting a group yourself.  There is lots of support available from our Groups Co-ordinator (Ursula Wild on 277 5881).  Also, see 'Starting a New Group' article in the website archives for some initial ideas.   It's not onerous, and is very rewarding and enjoyable!  Contact us via this website.
